Addis Ababa, Ethiopia - Tenadam Training, Consultancy and Research PLC had the honor of being invited to the Ethiopia Finance Forum 2025 – Investors' Series, a high-level event organized by the National Bank of Ethiopia, Ministry of Finance, and Ministry of Planning and Development. The forum brought together top government officials, policy experts, private sector leaders, and development partners to reflect on Ethiopia’s macroeconomic reform efforts and pathways for sustainable financial transformation.
Representing Tenadam at the event were Dr. Geteye Terfie, General Manager, and Aboneh Teshome, Finance Head. The firm was proud to be part of this nationally significant dialogue that focused on fiscal discipline, sectoral reforms, private investment, and regulatory innovation.
Dr. Geteye Terfie was among the distinguished voices featured on the second panel of the day, moderated by H.E. Dr. Eyob Tekalign, State Minister of Finance. The panel included prominent figures such as:
H.E. Ayanalem Nigusie, Minister of Revenue
H.E. Debele Kabeta, Commissioner of the Customs Commission
H.E. Melikte Sahle, Vice CEO of Ethiopian Investment Holdings
Mr. Yoseph Bereded, CEO of Aba Architects
In his remarks, Dr. Geteye raised a critical question on Ethiopia’s macroeconomic reform agenda, challenging the panel and attendees to consider who is truly shouldering the burden of these reforms. His intervention highlighted the need for an equitable, inclusive approach to reform implementation, where the private sector and broader society are engaged as active partners—not passive recipients.
Dr. Geteye also delivered a candid observation on work culture in Ethiopia, pointing out inefficiencies and institutional lethargy that hinder reform progress. He emphasized that no macroeconomic policy can succeed without a genuine transformation of the public sector’s work ethic and accountability mechanisms. His appeal to the ministers and state ministers in attendance was clear: improving work culture must be seen as a foundational pillar of reform, not an afterthought.
Tenadam believes that training, consultancy, and research are not only technical services but tools to advance national reform and civic dialogue. We thank the organizers of the Ethiopia Finance Forum for the opportunity to participate and contribute.
As Ethiopia continues on its reform journey, Tenadam remains committed to being part of the conversation—not just as a service provider, but as an engaged institutional citizen.
